The GenBots Soil Moisture Sensor measures soil volumetric water content by passing current between two exposed metallic prongs. More moisture decreases soil electrical resistance, raising current flow. The companion LM393 amplifier board provides a calibrated analog reading for moisture percentage logging and a digital logic output to trigger water pumps and irrigation valves directly.
